Pelican Wire Supporting the Community

October 2015

This year in an effort to serve and work with the local community, Pelican Wire Company has held several events.  Each quarter we sponsor a different non-profit organization.

Our first cause was to collect items and donations to support the Naples Humane Society.

In the second quarter we organized a company wide bowling event to collect funds for the new Collier County Freedom Memorial. We were honored to have the Mayor of Naples, John Sorey, come by our plant. He gave an excellent presentation on the importance of the memorial, how it was designed and how we can help make it a reality. This charitable donation will buy two bricks that will have the following inscribed on them: The Veterans of Pelican Wire Co., Inc. and the Employee Owners of Pelican Wire Co., Inc.

In the third quarter we were able to celebrate our Founder’s, Larry and Theresa Bill.  Larry passed on in 2008, so we were honored to have his wife Theresa celebrate with us.  This was a fun day that brought our employees and their families together at Fleishmann Park in Naples.  We asked everyone who attended to bring canned goods to support St. Matthew’s House.  St. Matthews’s house is a wonderful organization that strives to impact the lives of the homeless.

For the fourth quarter we have organized a walk for Autism.  The walk will be held in Estero, Florida on October 24, 2015.  We are walking in support of Tyler Lopez, the son of Robert and Laura Lopez, who has been diagnosed with Autism.  So far we are in the top 5 teams that have raised money in the area and hope soon to move to number one.
