Thermocouple
Wire
The thermocouple insulated wire from Pelican Wire is a reliable and ideal solution for applications involving high temperatures in science and industry. Thermocouple wires are one of the most widely used types of temperature sensors. Pelican has both insulated thermocouple wire and bare thermocouple wire in stock. The color of the thermocouple wire’s negative lead is usually red. Insulated and bare thermocouple wire can be custom built to the customer's exact specifications including conductor type, wire gauge, length and individual calibration requirements.
We offer thermocouple wires in standard and special limits, the most common thermocouple wires are listed below:

Thermocouple Wire Catalog Numbering
System:
How to use the catalog system:
Example: K24-1-305-001
1) The first letter gives the type of thermocouple wire
2) The next two numbers are the thermocouple wire gauge size of the T/C wire
3) The next single digit is the calibration designations (Special/Standard Limits of error) for the T/C wire
4) The next 3 numbers are the type of insulation (singles/jackets)
as shown in Table below
5) The last 3 numbers are special construction requirements.
