Pelican Wire Co, Inc. has floor heating wire to warm your floors. We have twelve standard size cables available that produce a nominal three watts/linear foot or twelve watts/square foot with a 3″ spacing.
Our standard cable design consists of two stranded resistance wires with an Aramid Fiber for additional strength and resistance to stretching. The two wires are insulated with Dupont Tefzel® Fluoropolymer, cabled together, shielded with a Tin Plated Copper Shield, and then extruded with a jacket of either Hylar®, Tefzel®, or XLPE insulation.
To install this cable the two insulated wires will need to be connected to each other on one end and the opposite end will connect to your power supply. An experienced electrician should do the termination of this cable. This product is intended for use under ceramic tile or wood floors as long as the cable is embedded in mortar.
The chart below shows out standard cable sizes available in bulk form or cut to size. The last two digits of the part number represent the square footage that the wire will cover with a nominal three inch spacing. Large areas may require more than one size cable.
